Guy what do you use to upload photos? Do you use an iphone? When I upload photos directly from my iphone they are always too big!
I've got a very old model iphone but i think i usually transfer onto my mac, then upload from there. i found you can tweak the size when the photo gets turned into all that weird code when you insert into a post too though, mebbe try that!
